With organisations looking to improve their recruitment effectiveness and drive cost efficiencies, more and more are now employing the services of Recruitment Process Outsourcing agencies (RPOs). This practice of outsourcing has increased significantly over the last few years, and is set to continue for some time to come as it becomes more widely recognised and accepted. Advancements in web-based recruitment technology are also fuelling this trend by making it easier for organisations of all sizes to consider RPO contracts. The technology is working to centralise the recruitment function, and is helping organisations build long term strategic partnerships with their RPO supplier.

An example of this is Human Resource solutions specialist, Atlan (recently acquired by Advantage Technical Resourcing Ltd), who recently won the contract with communications giant, T-Systems. The Managed Vendor agreement leverages a customised version of eploy®'s online recruitment and applicant tracking software solution to facilitate and manage the customer-candidate interface. The partnership sees Atlan managing the recruitment function for both permanent and contract staff for T-Systems.

Atlan adopted the web-based eploy® system to facilitate the reduction and co-ordination of selected suppliers and to introduce control over standardisation of the recruitment process. eploy® has introduced a 360 view of the recruitment function, giving time and cost to hire figures. The solution also overcomes the challenges associated with T-Systems' complex, multi-tiered authorisation processes - handling over 150 hiring managers - and multiple cost centre structure.[Grant Whelan, Director, Atlan]“We reviewed the market for software providers operating in the Vendor Management System (VMS) space and after narrowing our search we opted to progress with eploy®. We included the standard features in our proposal but this soon changed following T-Systems' request for Atlan to cover the authorisation process for all permanent vacancies. This required further enhancements to be built in the eploy® software,”

Grant Whelan, Director, Atlan.

The transparent mix of technology and process was an integral part of the winning solution together with secure ubiquitous access for both Atlan and T-Systems staff.

"The choice of software partner was important to Atlan's proposal as it required flexibility to adapt to the client's needs. In addition, as the responsibility for maintaining all information relating to the client's contingent workforce was to sit with Atlan, the software also needed to produce reports that would stand up to the client's stringent auditing programme," added Grant.

Following the implementation of eploy®, Atlan can now deliver to the client a comprehensive overview of their complete recruitment lifecycle with tailored management and KPI information. The authorisation is now automated, simplified, fast and efficient.[T-systems eploy integration]eploy® is fully integrated into T-Systems' website and Atlan's back office functions through a transparent link to a dedicated T-Systems branded recruitment microsite.

"The bespoke implementation for Atlan will deliver a more efficient and enjoyable recruitment experience for agencies, applicants and hiring managers by providing a central portal to access information. This will serve to reduce costs, maintain corporate standards and improve the speed and reliability of the administration process," said Paul Burgess, Managing Director, eploy®.
