IHR Live Bristol 2021 was a hive of activity and delivered on every level. The speaker line up, the debates, networking, the crowd – just awesome. Thank you to everyone who came along to the Eploy stand for advice, demos, or just a chat to catch up.

The event showcased topics including recruitment trends, developing high-performance teams, social recruiting, all things strategy, and amplifying the candidate experience.  You can register here to view all the sessions on-demand in case you missed any.

There was a real buzz around the concourse of Ashton Gate Stadium as delegates immersed themselves in content, networking and practical takeaways to put into practice back at the office.

Amplifying the candidate experience

We were delighted to see one of our Bristol based clients, ForrestBrown, presenting to a packed house on the topic of ‘Amplifying the end-to-end candidate experience’. The session was well attended as the latest jobs outlook suggests a hiring spree and labour shortages – and candidate experience comes into its own to help employers stand out to be a brand that candidates want to be part of.

Sarah Rogers, Talent Acquisition Manager at ForrestBrown, delivered a masterclass in handling the recruitment landscape. We heard how ForrestBrown embraced its brand through the recruitment process and went from paper-based processes to a complete recruitment platform,  delivering a vision with clear objectives and solid EVP to ensure success.

The session covered incorporating your Employer Brand throughout the recruitment process, introducing recruitment technology and clear goals for the best in class experience.

In a nutshell…

  • Using your brand and EVP for success.
  • The drivers for change in implementing an Applicant Tracking System.
  • What does best in class candidate experience look like – considering ease of application, tone of voice, communication, number of clicks, GDPR.
  • Win, learn, change – intelligent automation with the human touch, empowering stakeholders, getting feedback, and more.

Final LIVE thoughts

When talking to conference delegates on the day, overwhelmingly, the feedback was that recruitment is challenging right now. A candidate led market, some recruiters operating with spreadsheets as they’ve always managed that way, or making do with an ATS that isn’t fit for purpose and a distinct lack of factual data to know where to pinpoint the right quantity and quality of candidates.

Eploy and HR Grapevine launched the latest UK Candidate Attraction Survey (2021/2022), and we invite you to take part and rate each of your candidate sourcing channels for the quantity and quality of candidates they generate. It takes 5-6 minutes to complete, and you can take part now.

It’s open to all UK-based in-house and agency recruiters and up for grabs is a chance to win a £200 Amazon Voucher by taking part. Everyone who completes the survey will get a copy of the extensive report findings so you can benchmark yourself against your sector, understand the trends and behaviours and take action to improve the effectiveness of candidate sourcing channels.
