With more and more agencies now turning to 'true' web based recruitment software solutions, the Managing Director of specialist recruitment agency, The Works, has spoken exclusively to Recruiter about the significant business benefits his company has achieved since it moved its entire search and selection process online with eploy®'s recruitment software solution four years ago.

Craig Burton, Managing Director, The Works confirmed "By working in partnership with eploy® to continually develop and update our system over the last 3-4 years, we have achieved considerable time and cost savings, management benefits for the company and ultimately an improved service for our customers."

With the internet becoming the first port of call for the majority of job seekers today, The Works' web portal has been developed to communicate with candidates and clients effortlessly using eploy®'s application as an integral part of the service. We asked Craig to explain the benefits of this. "Vetting and short listing suitable applicants is now a faster and more efficient process that results in very few phone calls from candidates as we drive everyone to our website to register and apply for any vacancies they feel they qualify for."

On average, The Works receives around 300 new registrations per week and from those at least 250 applications are for specific vacancies. Craig told us that none of these are touched by a consultant until they research a vacancy and consider the applicants who have applied for that position. Eploy's built in tools then automatically extract data from the original CV and create a branded agency CV in our own company format. Craig said: "This process has made huge savings for the business as we no longer need an administrator in each of our 4 locations since all of our admin is now done at Head Office from the same system and anyone can work on any job from anywhere. I cannot begin to explain how much time this saves."[Screenshot of The Works website]"We have also just introduced a system where clients can log in to the system and authorise timesheets. This has been received really well, as we now have all our timesheets in the system and ready to process by Monday in 90% of cases! This system also supports the business's objective in achieving a paper-less office, which is important to us and a great selling tool."

We also asked Craig what impact the web-based system has had on his consultants. "It has completely revolutionised the way they operate. Because the system and website is one and the same it's simple to move consultants around and even home working is a reality in our business now. They now have 24 hour access to the system 365 days a year from any fixed or mobile device with Web access, and can distribute job alerts and CV's to potential candidates at a moment's notice. All information can be traced and tracked making candidate management straightforward and responsive. It also allows the company to open new locations very quickly without the need for onsite or networked databases."

Finally we asked Craig about his plans for the future. He said "We are a great advocate of online recruitment software and have worked with eploy® for over four years to establish our online strategy and we now plan to further develop our interactive services to help generate increased revenue.
