Simplyhealth provides healthcare solutions to consumers, corporate clients and dentists through its healthcare and dental plans and expanding innovative new products and partnerships to fulfil its purpose – to improve access to healthcare for all in the UK.

As a UK-wide business with an ambition to support customers on their personal health journeys through a product-led approach, candidate engagement is key to its strategy in recruiting the best talent for the business with new digital and product capability at the forefront of thinking.

Following the introduction of a new company culture and values framework and leadership behaviours, which has evolved over Simplyhealth’s long history, the talent team at Simplyhealth reviewed its careers site to ensure the candidate journey was reflective of its culture and values, incorporating lots of helpful candidate centric content.

Eploy worked with the Simplyhealth Talent Team to bring the vision to life and adapt the careers site to the changing landscape of candidate attraction. The Talent Team reviewed how to mirror its people plan strategy with a joined-up approach to attracting new talent. The Senior Executive Committee was bought into the changes and the Talent Team lead the project with support from their in-house design colleagues.

The Eploy Candidate Portal acts as a dedicated careers site and continues to fully integrate into the Simplyhealth Group website. The candidate portal provides a smooth and straightforward online application journey where candidates can register and apply with a few easy clicks as well as self-book interview slots.

The candidate centric content for the careers site has been designed with the candidate in mind, guiding individuals through Life at Simplyhealth, the recruitment journey of how candidates are kept informed, the teams at Simplyhealth and how to find the perfect role.

James Newton, Head of Talent Acquisition at Simplyhealth commented, “It was important to ensure the careers site matched where Simplyhealth is in 2023. As a purpose led business and the UK’s first health insurer to receive B Corp accreditation, I was very keen to ensure what we tell candidates about our company culture, values and our approach to Smart Working and the flexibility it provides, is represented online. As a team we developed content so candidates can get an understanding of the different opportunities across Simplyhealth and easily click through to a fully branded site with supporting information related to individual roles, similar jobs and get a feel for life at Simplyhealth – all designed to help candidates find and apply for their ideal career with us.”

As part of the development, candidates can share vacancies through social media such as LinkedIn and WhatsApp using quick share buttons included on each vacancy page.

Once a candidate creates a profile, accessible through any device, they can see their applications progress, manage data preferences and sign up for relevant job alerts for automatic notification of suitable roles. When a candidate creates a profile, Simplyhealth collect data on how a candidate heard of them and if the application is from an existing employee.

The careers site enhancements have driven alignment with the other Company social platforms to reflect the same tone of voice and images to present a consistent and accurate view of what it is like to work at Simplyhealth.
